interesting rename problem

Hi everyone,

Got one for you all to read, its got me scratching my head.

I've created a page where I can upload images, it will put it into the folder I choose and then rename it to a standard image. eg thumb.gif

The page is on the net already on my host.

From my PC it works fine, however I plug my house mate to the net through my pc (im the gateway) and when she does the uploads the images arrive in the directory but they are not renamed for some reason...

any ideas what may cause this???
