sending fake referer signals/..

currently i'm trying to do this:

file_get_contents("http://xxxxxxxxxx.com/xxxxxx/xxxx.gif");

but because my other dumb server does not allow hotlinking, i want to make it so it sends a fake referer signal, or just make it so my image will load.

You can use [man]fsockopen[/man], but that assumes you know a bit about the http protocol. You could also use [man]cURL[/man], but that assumes you have it.

The obvious solution would be to fix whatever you did on the other server so that it does "allow hotlinking" - remove whatever measures you put in place to prevent it, or at least allow linking from certain other servers (i.e., the one you're wanting to link from).

Or you could use "header()" assuming you have access to the manual.

uh.... somehow the server uses session to track if they could view the image or not, it still detects me as an leecher...

can i like use the server to open a site, eg. google.com

and then use the server to attempt to view the image file....

and then output it for my users to see my images...?

Umm, so it's someone else's picture on someone else's site that you're attempting to allow people to view on your site? If that's the case then you are a leecher.

If it's your site, and I've misread something, then I appologize and will tell you that all your problems can be solved with curl which can allow your php scripts to act like an actual web browser stopping by.

what do you mean someone elses server? its me.... i signed up for it... you can check www.free-webhosts.com and you can find alot of your own...
