Hi,
I am going through the 5-star rating system tutorial on phpfreaks and have a couple of questions.
One,
on this line:
function do_rating($tut_id, $rating){
if (session_is_registered("rating$tut_id")){
echo "<center>Sorry! You have already voted!";
They seem to be keeping track of whether somebody has voted by using sessions. This wont work for my setup because if they close the browser they can come back and vote again. I currently have a db for any members who will be voting. I would like to set it up so that php first checks the voting table to see if that member ID has voted on that song today. (I used datetime and now() in mysql). Is this a good idea and if so can anybody please give me a sample of what that snippet would look like?
Also, I have a rating button that I made in Flash. Its only purpose will be sending a variable to php of the vote. (0-5). Has anybody farted around with the loadvariablenum or something like that in Flash?
If anybody has any advice or tutorials to show me on this I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Kyle
