Umm I need some help with simple stuff..

i just started @ php.. i know nothing.. besides how to start php end it... echo and some calculation. anyways... how do you make it so that when you select a button with the name="radio1" to do a calculation like ('This '.$no1.(heres where i need the calculation */+ or - to be according to the selected button).$no2. ' is');
correct me if its suppose to be .$_no1. or $no1 and also do you need something to make a command to make the thing make it "equal"?...... yes....... im a real noob.. lol :p

actually it depends on the method attribute in your form.

If you set the method attribute to post then you refernce the variables as $POST['varname'] (i.e. $POST['radio1'])

If you set the method attribute to get then you reference the variables as $GET['varname'] (i.e. $GET['varname']). $_GET is also used to reference query string variables.

Hey viruz, welcome to the boards and to PHP. You'll find the manual to be extremely helpful. Also, the help you get on these boards is extremely handy too. The best thing to do is to find tutorials, and apply the examples found throughout the manual (for various things), and when you need help with making things work, or understanding things, feel free to come back here and post your questions.

hey guys.. thnx for da help :p i ended up asking my info tech teacher........ told me it was

<? echo ('blah blah'.$col.' '.$cars.'blah blah'.$money.'balh blah'); ?>

anyways... the $col refers to the radio buttons before it and it works fine.. (the thing i had missed was that i needed name="col" and value="white") anyways.. im thinking my easyphp wasnt properly installed cuz it keeps coming up w/ Notice: Undefined variable: col in C:\Program Files\easyphp1-7\www\wow.php on line 7 and i've done this @ skool and it works fine.. anyone can help?

No, it's because your register globals is on at school and off at home...

You need to call the variables from the applicable superglobal array ($GET or $POST).

$GET['col'] or $POST['col'] depending on which method you are using in your form tag as drawmack eluded to earlier.

lol it appears as a blank page... maybe i should get the <form method="post"> figured out....... php is hard 🙁
