variable inside variable possible?

Is it possible to put a variable inside another variable, like this?

where i'm trying to put the $i variable inside of the $block[num] variable

I don't know what you mean by "put inside", but I have a hunch you might want to use multidimensional arrays, e.g.

$block['num'][$i]

(btw, put quotes around your literal array indexes.)

This:

$block$i

won't work, as your test script has no doubt shown you.

Always you may want to use single quotes around your array keys.
