PHP4 equivalent of headers_list()?

I want to be able to use the functionality of headers_list() in PHP4 formatting. Upgrading is not an option in this case (it's the government, go figure). I can't find anything online that comes up with a PHP 4.0+ variation to headers_list(), a PHP 5+ function.

Does anyone have anything like this for PHP 4.0+ or know where I can go?

What exactly are you looking to do with the headers?

I simply want the functionality of headers_list() in a PHP 4 format. I want to be able to see what headers have already been sent as headers_list() does.
