Database structure problems

Im looking to make a forum as powerful as phpbb, i can get my head around the coding, but the way the database is structered is confuddling me. Does anybody know how phpbb structures its database?

Have you tried downloading phpbb, install it and look at the dbase structure?

Indeed i have tried looking at the actual structure a few times, and the coding behind the forum but still it is way over my head.

Does anyone have know of a less complex way to acheive this kind of forum? I know i am asking for alot.

what do you not get?

i recommend before beginning a task such as this, research online a bit about database structures first.
