Attachments Corrupted (on MacOS X) using php mail

Here's my problem.
I've tried all sorts of different mail classes, lots of codes, lots of scripts... when i finally found out the problem was not those scripts or my coding... the problem is the Mac.

What i'm trying to do is simply send an HTML Mail with Attachments using a form. In particular, my attachments will only be PDF.

When i send the mail... it reaches the recipient, with the HTML Message, and the attachments.. only, the attachments are corrupt.

I tested the same scripts on linux & windows server, and they work fine. I'm running my Apache Web Server on a Power Mac G5 machine with MacOS X 10.3, with PHP5.

What PHP is doing is adding garbage characters to any attachments being sent for some reason! I can't get this to work on Mac, and i need to.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks for the response.

Here's the thing. When you open up the attachment, it says "File corrupted or damaged. Could not be opened". So basically a corrupted file goes attached instead of the original file.

I ran a small code to read the byte size to read the file just to see if the numbers matched.. but they didnt', which told me that php is adding something to the original size.

So you don't really see any characters in the attached file.. it's just corrupted.
