[Resolved] why method overloading is not in PHP5?

Hi all,

Can I ask why this isn't in PHP5? and is there a way around this so that you can have overloading constructers and methods? and without trying to be question hog can this be done in PHP4?

Yes. Do your own type-checking in the method. [man]gettype[/man] and the other variable-handling functions, and [man]func_get_args[/man] and the other function-handling functions.
