I was covering a capitol hill press conference where two young women who were paralysed came to discuss adult stem cell research. They both had some of their own olfactory stem cells implanted back into their own spinal cords and gained significant sensation and some motor ability back. They were the real deal and helped lobby for adult stem cell research. A doctor in portugal does this research and procedure.
They said their responde had been better than most to the procedure. You couldn't have been there and not cried
I know this isn't the best place for trying ot get the word out about this, but if any of you have or have any family with spinal cord injury this might be worth knowing about.
And politics aside, stem cell research might end up making someones life more worth living.
