Where can i find image manipulation scripts ?

I am looking for a JPEG/PNG manipulation scripts which do not involve any external libraries like ImageMagick, GD or anything like that. In other words, I am looking for a pure PHP library which by means of PHP functions and data manipulation, is able to decode, manipulate (scale, for instance) and encode the abovementioned image format files.

The reason is simple, my host provider wont allow me to install any libraries and I dont want to depend on GD library or alike. To be frank I dont like the concept of installation at all.

Aside from the fact that you apparently contradicted yourself at least twice...

Your're not going to get what you want without an external library. PHP (> 4.3.0) has built-in support for the GD library in the form of many easy-to-use functions. Many PHP users, if not most, wouldn't even consider signing up with a host who disables that support.

How did I contradict myself exactly ? I thought I expressed myself pretty clear:

I am looking for a php script(s) which by themselves manage to manipulate at least JPEG format files, without being dependent on anything but PHP processor.

I am not interested in GD library, ImageMagick or anything like that (PHP extensions etc).

I am looking for pure PHP scripts. Can you please explain why image manipulation with PHP code is not possible ?

It is possible, with PHP image functions. You can't do it with filesystem functions, or XML functions, or mail functions. You need to use image functions, either the ones that are built-in, or ones you add yourself with a third-party library.

So, I cannot manipulate binary data by bits or bytes in PHP ? If I could, then I could make my own JPEG decompression in raw PHP JIT-code (provided I know the JPEG scheme).
