Download Script

hi guys, i was wondering how to create a download script like for example the one on download.com. Ive designed an intranet with a shared resource that teachers can upload to... works a treat. problem is when the students click the file they want it opens ina new ie window, and most dont know how to right click and save as so i want it so that when they click the link its take them to a page to dl.
All the file data is stored in mysql database (not the actual file) but where its located, its id, what subject blah blah blah....

If you could point me to a good website i would be really grateful 🙂

link to files like this:

then in download.php (i'm just guessing here at your data structure)

thx, gonna have a lil try with it later. $row['type'] is the mime type of the file isnt it? cus ive not actually stored the files mime type :S
