Please help us to beta-test new PHP editor

Dear friends!
We are asking your opinion on our PHP Editor with PHP 4 and 5 support .

Some people ask what is the point of yet another editor. We see our niche as low cost solution-a set of several tools with everything a web-master might need.
It is still a long way to our dream, but we are working hard.

This is a public beta-version and still needs to be tailored to your needs.

So we would be happy if you throw in your opinion or feature request.
Everybody who participates will get full professional version with free updates.

We are interested to hear your first impression on the program, what you do
(do not) like in it, what features you find to be the most valuable ones.

The version you see now has some imperfections, and we are dealing with it.
If you find a bug, please send us the next information:

OS version

Version of the Editor

Please, pay attention to these features:
Debugger
Work with the FTP Servers (synchronization, running on the remote server, and so on)
Tag Editor (our program contains internal non-WYSIWYG HTML Editor)
Autocomplete and IntelliSense
Project and its options

Okay, first feedback, i've just checked some of my favorite option.

The code navigator is really great, way more than the eclipse one, it's easy to find something, and it's php5 compliant 🙂
Though I'd have liked it to stay open when i check the output and come back.
Maybe the $this variable needs something cleaner, it's hard to find an occurance in this mess

Syntax coloration ain't bad, but the default color are a bit cheap, nothing to worry about, i changed'em in the options

the search option is fine (regex and all), but the "wrap around" is missing imho

The Events tab somehow didn't work as i think it would.
I created a simple parse error, saved the file and nothing would come up, I had to check the output and comeback on the source to see it showing up

The html should be xhtml imho, and when my mouse is focus over a button, i don't have any description of what it is, have to click in order to see that.

That's all what i checked right now, seems really good for the moment, might keep it.
Is there any free version though?😃

I'm always looking at new editors, though I've always gone back to HTML-Kit, so I'll download and try yours.

But I'll send my assessment to you through your site or email, and not in this forum. And I have to ask why you decided to post this in this forum, which is called "Help with PHP Coding", instead of, say, the "Lounge" or "Misc Tools" forum?

Sounds interesting.

I downloaded the program using te "Get the beta" link and when I tried to install it, it said "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program."

This thread is looking interesting. I am relatively new to PHP programming, but I like testing part. I have downloaded the editor.

I will surely participate in beta-testing and give you the feedback.

The previous file size was about 1.5 megs. This one was about 5.5 megs.

I'll install it and give it a whirl.. Looks like a great program from the webpage screen pics.

Okay.. I downloaded it and installed it.

I must be missing something or just really dense today.

I started the program from the start menu. It starts the PHP DBG listener program and then a small retangular window flashes, but the editor that shows in the screen shots doesn't appear. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Hmm.. it seems as though its causing an error. Here is the info from the event log.

The application, C:\Program Files\LuckaSoft\EnginSite Editor for PHP\phpe.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 10/15/2004 @ 10:50:38.782 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 0077C3CD (phpe)

OS is Windows XP Pro

Did the program start the Distribution Manager at the very beginning (was it asking you for the php.ini and php.exe files)???

It took a while to install. It did not start the Distribution Manager.
I also don't have PHP installed on my system.

OS Version: Windows XP Professional Service Pack1

IE Version: 6.0.2800 (IE 6.0 SP2)

PHP Version: N/A - I didn't know I needed one installed. I guess I can install the windows release and try to run the program again.

PHP Editor: N/A - as I cannot run it. It is the most recent one available for download on your webpage.

Installed PHP 4.3.9 and manually ran the distribution manager. It found the php.ini file, etc. But the editor program still won't run.

The testing will start soon on my behalf.

I will test it on Win98 and Win2000...

Is that O.K?
