Getting different pages at ip address and localhost

Hi,

I am having a few issues.

1) I get a different phpMyAdmin page for my ip address than my localhost?
ie http://192.168.168.133 than http://localhost

The IP address gives me limited mysql site with a note about:
"Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole."

The local host has the same warning, but has a lot more options in the left window pane.

2) I dont have the root password or user password set and all the online instructions lead me to " command not found" in the shell.

Anyone seen this before?

the default users setup for mySQL is username "root" and a blank password. you can change this going into the mysql.user table and updating the existing record(s).

You need to set up a mysql user account and have phpmyadmin use that account. Check out the mysql docs. Sorry I don't have a link for you.
