Email setup

I discover LAMP few months ago and now I am crazy about it. 😃

I am developing couple LAMP servers. One is my company intranet, which I created forms for some employee requests (like day-off request, or purchase request). Whenever the form is submit, I want the information to email to the appropiate persons (like managers). Our email server is currently hosted at our ISP, smtp.xxxx.com. How can I set it up so I can send mail to that SMTP server?

I tried to setup php.ini but not working. Did I miss anything? Where should I enter the password for the email account?

Hi,

the email() function doesn't support SMTPAUTH, you need to use one of the classes that support authentication (like e.g. phpmailer).

Alternatively, enable sendmail or postfix on the linux server and reconfigure the firewall to allow SMTP traffic coming from that server.
