Select two tables

Ok I got a table called advertisements.. and one called clicks.

Advertisements.
ID--NAME--HITS

CLICKS
MID--AID--TIME

AID stands for Advertisements ID.. so I want to select from the table all ads that DO NOT exist in click table.

Basically say I have stored in CLICKS

(clicks)
MID----AID------TIME-----
01------05---100023424

Then in advertisements I have..

(advertisements)
ID----NAME------HITS-----
05----blue---------5-------

Now since AID is 5 and advertisements ID is 5.. how do I make it so that result doesnt show in a SELECT query for all advertisements

Old sql way

$sql = " select a.*, c.* from ads a, click c where a.id = c.aid and a.id=$some_var";

New sql way with inner join

$sql = " select a.*, c.* from ads inner join click c on a.id = c.aid where a.id=$some_var";
