which version of php5?

Hi all!
I'm VERY NEWBIE with php and have some questions.
I'd like to learn php and use it for active HTML pages and query to MySQL (4.1 just installed and running).
My OS is Windows XP.

1. Which are the differences between PHP 5.0.2 zip package and PHP 5.0.2 installer (CGI only)?

2. I've Tomcat installed: does it support php?

the zip package does not have an installer that sets everything up for, you have to manually configure PHP and your webserver.

the installer has a standard Win32 setup app that copies all the files for you and configures some webservers (IIS, PWS, Xitami).

my suggestion for newbies on WinXP who want a basic dev setup is to go with IIS (which comes with WinXP Pro) and PHP installer. This is the easiiest route.
