PHP program for PDF form?

Hi PHP Programmers,

I have a PDF format form (like application form).I want get data from mysql database and fill out the form with dynamic data and genarate other PDF file.

The key point is filling the right data in the right field in PDF file.

I want to use php to do it.do you think if it is possible or not?

Please give me some links if you have .Thanks

As far as going straight from the database to the PDF form, I'm not sure that can be done as I'm not aware of all of the third-party products on the market for that. If you wish to involve PHP in the solution, you should create an HTML form that has the same fields as your PDF form. Then your logic should be as follows:

database > HTML form > PHP logic > using converter to go from PHP to PDF

That last step uses a converter. Check out pdflib.com for that part. There are other similar products, but that is the first to come to mind.

If you are looking to create static PDF pages, then i recommend Open Office by Sun, it allows you to save a text document as a PDF, also allowing you to open a Microsoft Office file, and then save it as a PDF (you may need to do a little reformatting sometimes - lists specifically)

if you are looking to create dynamic PDF files, then fpdf is a great program and yes, the generation time is a little high, but not excessive, and the file output is clean and customizable (including adding custom fonts).

I want to open a existed PDF file and modify it then save it to other PDF file.

Do you think if PHP program can do it?
