Upload progress?

Hi,

I have a site that allows mp3 uploads so they can be up to 10 MB. I've noticed that when I upload a song thats over about 3 MB, the progress indicator at the bottom of the browser slowly fills as it should, but I've noticed that when it gets to the end it hangs for a long time, like over a minute. I'm afraid that users may think that the download failed. Is there a way that I can display the upload progress to keep users hanging in there?

Or is there something that I can check into that may be slowing the transfer at the end?

when user upload or download files , i think they will saw a pop window about file download,
so when download are still in progress , they will surely know

Thanks for the help.

Currently I am using a submit.php page with the submission form.
The form action is "submitAction.php".

At this point it doesnt even display the second page until the file upload progess meter goes completely full, and then it pauses for almost 2 minutes before going to the submitAction.php page.

Would this be a job for Java?

Or better yet, what might be the cause of this behavior? Has anybody run into this?

Not the best solution I'm sure but you could open a new window using javascript (or an alert) that has a message such as "file uploading this may take up to x mins on a whatever connection" And close the window on page load of your second page.

Pants I know, but simple.
