Date Format... (yyyymmddhhmmss) to something ledgeable

Hi,

I have a DB full of dates in the format: 20041015160801

Ideally I would like to display them in the format:

2004/10/15 - 16:08:01

or even better:

15/10/2004 - 16:08:01

I have looked into using various timestamp and date functions and impode and explode functions.

Can someone please tell me the best way to go about this???

which DB? mySQL? if so look at the DATE_FORMAT function.
