preparing data from Excel

I have an excel spreadsheet with my data. I've tried saving as CSV and then inserting into the mysql databases, but I continue to receive the following error:
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

Here's line 1:
insert into churchdb2 ('','11392','Church Name','1111 Piney Orchard Parkway','Baltimore','MD','21111','Anne Arundel','410-444-4444','410-555-5555','','410-333-3333','email','http://www.wwww.org/','Timothy','Stern','Pastor','Corinne','Baker','Interim Associate Pastor','Scott','Foster','Clerk','','','','','','','','','','');

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

You are supposed to specify the column names and then the values
insert into churchdb2 (column1, column2, column3,.....) VALUES ('','11392','Church Name','1111 Piney Orchard Parkway','Baltimore','MD','21111','Anne Arundel','410-444-4444','410-555-5555','','410-333-3333','email','http://www.wwww.org/ ','Timothy','Stern','Pastor','Corinne','Baker','In terim Associate Pastor','Scott','Foster','Clerk','','','','','',''
,'','','','');

You can leave out the column names if you are inserting them sequentially, but as brought out, you are missing a VALUES Identifier. Otherwise, it looks good, (I think).

i.e. $q = "INSERT INTO churchdb2 VALUES ('blah', 'blah', ...)";

I like what that script is doing from the link czambran gave. It is making SQL do the work for you. This is good. reminds himself to read up more on SQL

I had no idea that you could ommit the name of the columns if u were inserting the values sequentall 😕 , I should probably make sure I know what I am talking about before replaying.
