passing variables to different places with a href

Hi,

Id like to have a link on my index.php that not only loads a particular php file into an IFRAME, it also sets a couple of variables.

SO when I click for example on "about us" it loads aboutus.php into my content IFRAME, but it also sets a variable to aboutus, maybe

$where="aboutus";

This way I can make a language button, so if someone decides to change the language I can call the appropriate php doc into content without the user going back to home.

I would appreciate any pointers that can be offered.

then in index.php, the above variables will be available in the $_GET array.

I think I was unclear. Although index.php should get the variable $where the actual php file that is loaded should get the $lang variable.
After a bit more thinking about it though, I could (theoretically) pass the vars as you said then at the beginning of the index.php find out what the lang var is and send it on load to the Iframe content which the loads the correct language.
