How to start php programming with mysql on windows 2000 server

I have windows 2000 server OS,
Can you please tell me what are all the things i need to start the php with mysql programming.

Please also let me know what kind of webserver do i need.

Are there any free tools available.

Firstly to really use PHP you should try using Linux if that isnt an option you can opt for Apache Web Server PHP and MySQL try not using IIS.

there is no problem if you want use windows for php programming
but i suggest you to using windows xp or windows 98 and not windows 2000 server
