storing user's computer info

I need to make a web based way for a user to store thier info. in mysql. So they click on it and it stores thier os, service pack, ram of the user's computer. I can't think of anyway to do it in php? Any way possible? Only way i can think is activex connected to mysql.

How would PHP know how much RAM the user's computer has? Why would you want to know?
