http link translation for $_GET

I have a link http://www.neetprog.net/neet.php?[e-mail]

and when I click it, the thing that gets placed in my php program's $GET environment variable is my_name@email_com

The dots were changed to underscores.

Can someone explain where this is occuring and is there a simple translation I can use to get the original back? I suppose I could just change underscores to dots but that is probably a bit short sighted.

use [man]urlencode[/man] and [man]urldecode[/man]

Thanks, but...

urldecode did not change the string. The output looks just like the input. Still has the underscores where the dots are supposed to be.

urlencode made the string worse by adding some %% stuff but left the underscores.

code your links this:

<a href="http://www.neetprog.net/neet.php?email=[e-mail]">link</a>

then you will have a $_GET array index called "email" that equals "[e-mail]".
