rename and remote pc

i am trying use the rename function and i recive thios message :

the things ithat on the remotre pc on the network i gave fall the needed permisions and still it dosent work (n windows 2000)

I beleive rename() is for the local filesystem only ... try ftp_rename, if you are using FTP that is.
