Can't connect to localhost as myuser

I get this message when I'm trying to connect to mysql

This must be a permission problem. Can someone please tell me what I must do in mysql to solve this? If I'm not completely wrong there is a permission database somewhere inside mysql, right or wrong??

right. the database is mysql and the table is user. typically the default root user is "root" and the password is "" (blank).
