limit the amount of clicks/hits on a link

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if there is a PHP code to limit the amount of hits on a web link.

I have a PDF file that can only be viewed 3000 times as the limit. When the link amount reaches 3000, then I need to redirect/or display that the limit amount has been reached.

Can anyone help? Thanks!
