[Resolved] $echo value not showing in url

Hi,

i have a little problem here I can't understand.

I need to have a link "send picture to mobile phone", that parse the pic reference to a third party script.

all would work just fine and the principle is very simple.

the first part of the link is the thrid party's page, and the second part is the url value to be parsed so the script can retrieve the picture. all i have to send is the corect url of the picutre:

http://www.purple-e3.com/purple/00_pictures/02_galleries/upload/<?php echo $row_rsrspictures['pic_file']; ?>

but although i can echo the: <?php echo $row_rsrspictures['pic_file']; ?> (this is the picture file name from my recordset) on my page, I can't get it to print into the <a ref> tag

try to echo
$row_rsrspictures['pic_file'] to check whether the variable is has a value or not

Yes it does!

it shows perfectly if i just try to echo it on the page.

but not in this url...

please post some more code, especially the part that does the database stuff and prints the link.

the way i got it to work was to send the URL via a form.

It looks like the page i was passing it to was looking for a form value to retrieve.

I had no idea as i have no documentation for it.

Maybe that is not the full story, but it works this way, and not with a simple link passing a url value.

I've just found that out.
