[Resolved] Sending php in email...

I want to send an email that when opened will display the current result of a php script.

Obviously this would be an html email.

The only way I can think of doing this would be to have the php script output as an image.

Anyone know of a better way to do this?

All I need is about 10 lines of basic text displayed, but I don’t want to make the person receiving the email to be forced to open another page to get updated results.

That depends on the definition of "current." If "current" is from the time you send it, then just pipe the information into the mail.
If "current" is when they open the email, that makes things a bit harder. If you have an HTML email, you can just write the text to an image and have them request that image, as you suggested. Or you could have them open a new page, as you feared.
I cannot think of another way that would be reliable. I would suggest giving them a link to the current information and have them open that.

hmm, what about just useing a frame... Never tried to use a frame in email... would that work?

if you want people to be able to have instant access to current news why not set up an rss feed?

Because the main thing I want to use would be customers that don’t know anything about the internet/email.

Using an image will be a pain to create, but this way they can see current information (like proofs, billing status, ect) live, just by looking at the email

In my experience people HATE getting email, and this way I only need to send one email to keep them updated at all times.

People like email, what they don’t like is spam.

I'm just trying to provide full information to those that want more information without crossing into the spam category for those that don’t want more information =)

I think thats a very cool idea, never saw it anywhere else before.
