PHP to HTML

Plotting

Hi, having searched around on Google I still couldn't find what I am looking for but came across this site and wondered if you could help.

I have never used php before but what I would like to do is use php to pull content out of my mysql table. Once it is pulled in to the php page I would then like the script to write this to an HTML file. Is this possible? The reason that I want to do this is bacause I do not want anything dynamic on any of my webpages.

Not sure if you can do that. Perhaps a CronJob is what you would like.

To be absolutely truthful, it would be better to just create a *.html Template and then from there call script functions which access the database and read values from there. This form is linked to a mySQL database through that.

Out of curiousity why don't you want to use a dynamic page?

Put everything a buffer and write that buffer to a file:

$result = mydql_query("SELECT page FROM table");
list($page) = mysql_fetch_row($result);

$file =fopen("someFile.html", "W");
fputs($page, $file);
fclose($file);

Or something like that, i'n not exactly sure on the file funtions

If it's not too much of an insult can anyone help me with one other thing?

I am stuck trying to get multiple CSV files to populate one Table. At the moment when I add the first CSV this fills in the first three fields fine, but when I insert my second CSV file this is just added to the same list of fields and doubles my data. Sorry if this doesn't make too much sense but:

Currently(bad):

Field1 --- Field2 --- Field3

csv1 --- empty --- empty
csv2 --- empty --- empty
csv3 --- empty --- empty

Want:

Field1 --- Field2 --- Field3

csv1 --- csv2 --- csv3
csv1 --- csv2 --- csv3

If this makes any sense then please help.

Plotting

Having looked through other threads I was wondering (related to my last question) what if I populated several tables with different csv data and then joined the tables together so that I have all the info in one table.

Is this possible? How would I do that?

I guess if it was possible it would definaitly save me from having to insert multiple csv's to one table.

If it works for one file and not for the other, there is somewhere a difference between both files.

Either the separator character is not the same, or there are other characters causing trouble.
