[Resolved] PHP not picking up variables in address

I've just installed PHP on my system with Apache, both the latest version. For some reason a variable in the address such as test.php?blah=text isn't picked up. test.php has just <? echo $blah; ?> in it yet nothing is echoed.

Can anyone help me with this? I have no idea whats wrong...

check you global_variables setting in your php.ini. My guess is that it's set to Off Set it to On and you should be good to go.

In PHP new versions....you can pick the data in 2 ways....

if it is coming via query string then u hv to pick it like...$_REQUEST($var).
if it is coming via hidden variable then u hv to pick it like...$_POST['var'].

Just try one of the two methods ..i hope u wil get ur output..
