Help with enabling GD

Hello,

I'm very new to PHP. I had a friend do some coding for me. I'm working on my website. I'm trying to enable GD so that the pictures will automatically resize and so forth. I can't seem to get it working. Here is the link to the non working page. You'll notice that the pictures are missing. What am I doing wrong?

My current Setup

W2k Server
PHP 4.3.4
MySql Database

I'm not sure how to tell if GD is even enabled. I'm not sure if the dll's, includes, etc are right.. any help would be great.

First run a PHPInfo look for a section on GD (the installed extensions will be in alphabetical order) so if you do not find it, it means its not installed.

Installing it on Windows is quite simple

In Windows, you'll include the GD2 DLL php_gd2.dll as an extension in php.ini. The GD1 DLL php_gd.dll was removed in PHP 4.3.2. Also note that the preferred truecolor image functions, such as imagecreatetruecolor(), require GD2.

it looks like it's not enabled. What do I need to do? I have the dlls.. i'm not sure if its all in the right place... any help would be appreciated.

Actually i'm now seeing that it IS enabled. but it is still not working. what should be my first steps to troubleshoot this?

Well there could be a number of reasons why.

Restart the server.
Once restarted see if you get any PHP Module Errors
If you dont get given any check your logs just to make sure that there arent any if there are no errors it usually means the its installed correctly.

Also what is the code that you are trying to use, it maybe because a different part in the GD isnt installed.
