Heh, maybe.

But, realize that everyone needs a little humor, even programmers. And programmers tend to have, well, unique needs in terms of humor and relaxation.

To more thoroughly understand the "geek" mentality, check out Eric S. Raymond's writings in the Jargon File, amongst other things. "Hackers" (in the traditional non-perjorative sense) have a well developed and well-defined sense of "what's fun(ny)" and I'd say this probably fits that bill rather well ... though I can't say for sure, as the site still seems down ....
