I installed apache w/ php on win98.
everyting works fine, except the mail() object.
obviously I need some sort of mail software running on my 98 box.
how do i get mail() object working??

you either need a mail server on your PC or permission to use a remote mail server. One easy way to do it, if you have a Yahoo account and don't mind sending your email via Yahoo, is to get YahooPops from http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/ It's free and easy to setup. I've used it for a year or so now. Then your SMTP path in your php.ini will be localhost. Not sure where to point you if you need a remote server. If you have email through your ISP, then try the same outgoing mail (SMTP) setting as as you have for Outlook (or whichever email program you use).
