Open SSL

I know this isn't PHP specific but I've received good help here so I thought I would throw this out here.

I've got to secure a page with SSL where customers can insert credit card info. My host has Open SSL installed but I don't exactly know how to use it. I've tried the documentation at openssl.com/org but it's not too helpful. Do any of you know the specifics on how to set this up or perhaps point me in the right direction for info?
