Displaying the latest registered member

As like these forums, I would like my site to welcome the newest member to the site on the index page.

I just don't know the code needed to do so.

I have members stored in a database, each with a unique ID, so I guess I have to look for the member with the highest ID.

Any clue on how to code this, I don't think theres too much coding involved.

Well, I've never done this myself, but assuming your members are being entered in a DB, you could add a field called newest member, which is either on or off, and only one person can be switched on, which would be done at sign up or activation or whatever.

Alternatively, you could include a date stamp for their signup date and take the highest value there. Hey, you could even date stamp it in Unix time and subtract it from the current unix time and take the smallest result...

Yes, I have a registration date all set up when the user has registered.

I just need to know how to code this 😃
