Need to upload data from desktop app

I have created a way for my desktop app I am writing (VB.Net) to download data from my site (PHP & MySQL) by forming XML output. However, I want to upload this data as well. Does anyone know how I can do that?

Even though the site is PHP/MySQL driven, it sounds as though your VB.net application is actually doing the work. Since this is a PHP site and I am not familiar with VB.net, I can't really say for sure, but can you "reverse engineer" the mechanism you implemented to download it in the first place?

I may be mistaken in how I am interpreting your post, so I apologize if I am. Maybe give more details about what you are doing, and how you are doing it, and we can maybe help you along.

What would I need to do on the PHP side to communicate with an outside application to allow for data to be uploaded? Let's pretend that this is coming from another web site or something else that you may be more familiar with...

There are a couple things you could do, but the likely most available one is to pass the xml data by POST or to upload it as a file.

If you decide to just send it as POST data, read up on either the HTTP protocol or cURL.

Some of the manual pages provided are only available under PHP5 - which is not widely supported as of yet.
