[Resolved] refreshing to midway down a page?

Hello
I have a page that has a section of text. If you scroll down below the text there is a button. Pressing this button triggers the PHP to refresh the page and reveal a number next to the button. The problem is, the page refreshes and you are back looking at the top of the page and you have to scroll back down past the text to see the button and the number. Is there a way to refresh and jump back down to the point you were looking at, rather than the top of the page?

I am sure I have seen this done.

not much of php, plain html anchors should do, I think.

insert <a name="whatever"></a> at the position you'd like to jump to.

the reference (link, form target) then should point to http://domain.com/filename.php#whatever instead of
http://domain.com/filename.php
