Passing variable through a firewall

Hi everyone,

I am an absolute newbie with networks and firewall, etc, and I desparately need to know how to send variables from a login form on a Secure (HTTPS) web sever through a firewall to another server.

I have permission to alter the firewall or any of the settings to get this working.

The simplest thing I can think of here is that you have a form operating on an HTTPS server, and that form's action attribute is set POST to another server. Is this what you're attempting to do?

Because most firewalls should be allowing that kind of traffic already, as it's a simple HTTPS transaction ...
