Setting Up Pages

Ok so the title is a little vague but the question is pretty straight forward 🙂. I go to plenty websites where they have really long articles but it was programmed to get split up into pages, like say it is a really long article and you don't want the user to be scrolling down too much, you'd set it up to get split up into different pages.

I am wondering how that is done, I mean say it gets split 5 pages, in the mysql table is there a field for each page... a good example of what I am talking about would be at:

you could insert special custom tags to indicate the page breaks and then use [man]explode[/man] to separate them:

$article = '
blah blah blah
blah blah blah
blah blah blah

[page break]

blah blah blah
blah blah blah
blah blah blah

[page break]

blah blah blah
blah blah blah
blah blah blah
';

$explode = explode('[page break]', $article);
echo $explode[0]; // page 1
echo $explode[1]; // page 2
echo $explode[2]; // page 3
