Array in a field

I'll be storing an array in a field, and then will be bringing out data depending on the numbers in the array.

Originally I decided I would do it using "LIKE" but then realized that if I had the numbers 5,11,14 in the field and was searching for "1", it would return true as there is 11 and 14.

I'm sure I seen a thread like this before, but doing a search didn't pull up any results, so could anyone help me?

That should be a white labcoat you're donning - according to some of your posts.

You saying there should not be a search on "1" in the first place?
That these values must be discrete, in relation to possible values in the field (one possible choice for one possible outcome).

Or, that the chosen values within the arrays should be changed, because these values are many times based on rowids of course.

What about changing from whole to decimal numbers? This makes additions easier, for later (if they are not rowid's, but within other columns.) Or maybe alphanumeric - why don't you see alphanumeric with arrays?

I intended to use LIKE for this same purpose. What other SELECT could retrieve individual values in the array col?
