That guy sounds like he knows of what he speaks. Certainly alot more than me 😉 I definitely agree that if it works, and adheres to basic OO principles, then it is not wrong, regardless of whether it flies in the face of past, proven ideas.
I've been playing with the MVC pattern in PHP 5 for a while now, and produced what I think is a fairly decent system based on the Java Struts approach, although very simple in comparison to what is out there.
I have looked at countless different PHP/MVC architectures (Limb, Phrame, PHP-MVC etc) and found it hard to get an understanding of how things should work. In fact I came to the conclusion that there is no right way to do it, the MVC pattern is really just an idea, the implementation is up to the developer.
I will be giving those articles a more thorough read, definitely enlightening 🙂
