PHP External Command Question

I am running a PHP script using shell_exec() on my server and can run command on my server with no problems. What I am wanting is the ability to connect to the server and then have the server run a command on the client machine. My task is to have a page which will call the rasdial.exe command locally and dial a phonebook entry. Any ideas what I need to do to accomplish this?

there's nothing you can do with PHP directly since this is a server side only script language.

Why exactly do you want to do that ?

What I have is a database of phone numbers. I can run queries and sorts on the data and display it in multiple formats.

What I am looking to accomplish is the ability to allow users to select a number and the webpage passes the phone number as a variable to their RAS dailer.

I know I can accomplish this with VB, but I was hoping to perform this with PHP.
