simple function help

which line number function was called from without passing the line number in argument?

i created this simple function and it give me line 35, but function was called at line 40.

any idea!

you need to send the line to the function in the call as when you call LINE it looks to see which line its on

  temp('why me',__LINE__);

if you see on my thread, i said not using the argument, so i want to do it with sending the line number in the argument of the function. which might be little tricky or so, but i dont know, need help with it.

i wanted to do this way, because i will be calling this function all our my application as debuger, so i wont want to type extra every time i want to use it. there are more arguments going with it, so you can understand what i mean.

ill say it again you cant call LINE from line 35 and
make it say 40 so it not possible with LINE unleess you pass it in the arg

take a look at writing your own error handler for debugging

as this would pass the line http://uk.php.net/manual/en/function.set-error-handler.php
