Hi all

I've got a question and I hope you can help me.
I'm trying to make a navigation bar or what ever you call it.
It look like this PHPBuilder.com > PHP Help > Newbies

I hope you understand what I want.

In my mysql databse I've got an Id, parentId, Name

the id of the base folder is 0.

for example

Home has got Id 1 and parentId 0
Personal has got Id 2 and parentId 0
Work has got Id 3 and parentId 2
Location has got Id 4 and parentID 2

Now I want to say Peronal > Work > Location
But how can i make this???????

Can someone please help me?

Have a look at the sorce for this page to see what the html looks like for this type of navigation. Then have a bash at generating that from your db. When you run into problems, post the code AND the error massage here and someone will help you.

What you have asked for at the moment is for someone to write the code for you, and no-one is going to do that here.

thanks for you reply I really appreciate it.

It was not the meaning that someone write the code for me, but maybe can someone explain me how I can write the code. I tryed a couple of thinks but I can't get it working the way I want it to work.
I think I'm not good enough in PHP 🙁
I really don't know how I can do it. But when someone can explain it to me what the best solution is for my question I can learn from it.
So I don't ask for a code but a push in the good direction, so I understand how to do it.

I'm not that good in English and I hope you understand what I mean

I don't do mysql but I understand how it works. You need to have a row with ('id','page name','parent name')

from this you can echo out page name , get mysql to find a entry with 'page name' as parent name. and from that parent name.page name you can fin out if that parent has a parent.

Conect to Mysql.
echo 'page name'
echo 'parent name'
search for a page name that = currant 'page name'
echo parents page name'
