how to get Last Modified of a file

I'm new here😛

I want to search the current directory and show a link to the first two html pages that were modified recently.

for example if the current directory has:

1.html 12-01-04
3.html 12-02-04
4.html 12-03-04
7.html 12-04-04
2.html 12-05-04

then my page would have a link to

1.html
3.html

any help is appreciated.

I found a better way to do it using strstr()

in the if statement i just added && strstar....

if ($filename != '.' && $filename != '..' && is_file($path . $filename) && 	strstr($filename , '.') == '.htm')

i'm afraid i have to completely disagree that yours is a better way. what happens if you have a file called xxx.yyy.zzz.htm?

For every scenario there is a good way and a better way, my way suits better in this situation. Yours may be better in the situation that you mentioned.
