session or cookie

just wondering i dont know how this works.

i set a cookie on my browser but if i close it the cookie will expire automatically and i even set my session but it always expires automatically

what should i do for me not to expire my session even if i close my browser?

session.cookie_lifetime integer

[I]session.cookie_lifetime[/I] specifies the lifetime of the cookie in seconds which is sent to the browser. The value 0 means "until the browser is closed." Defaults to 0. See also [man]session_get_cookie_params()[/man] and [man]session_set_cookie_params()[/man].
