Filenames with dots

Maybe a odd question but is there any problems by using dots in your filenames ie.: my.script.php ?

no. in fact nearly every file on a windows machine contains a dot (separating the filename from the extension).

I call all my include files filename.inc.php .. and my classes filename.class.php .. and my function files filename.function.php

It's just nicer.

Yes, my intention was to make nice filenames.
However i didn't knew if the server would mix something up with the mimetypes if there is more than one dot in the file...

Dots have been an ordinary filename character since the late 1960s. The only platform I know of that would have trouble is MS-DOS.

Any reasonable program that needed to determine the MIME type of a file would look at the file if it can, not its name.
