Creating Array

Ok here is the problem, I should know this but I am completely lost... haven't done database work for a while now.

I am doing this, trying to get the email address of all the rows in the table and then assign it to a variable like so:

DATABASE TABLE:
ID | NAME | EMAIL
1 | ABC | [e-mail]
2 | DEF | [e-mail]
3 | XYZ | [e-mail]

I need the variable after the query loops to have a value like this

$var = '[e-mail],[e-mail],[e-mail]';

is that easy?

Run the query and you will get the reults as an array already formed

$sql = "SELECT email FROM table";
$result =  mysql_query($sql) or die($sql . '<br />' . mysql_error());

//$result is an array whose contents can be addressed thus

$email1 = $result[0];
$email2 = $result[1];

//etc

I think I figured it out, what about this (in a textfile):

[e-mail]
[e-mail]
[e-mail]

How would I turn that into an array? It isn';t seperated by any commas or anything...

[man]file/man ... This function reads a file into an array. The only downside is that it leaves the \n on each line. But you can just loop through the array with rtrim().
